Translation of complex word-forms between three structurally different languages

Abstract

Translation between structurally very different languages is challenging, because there are several factors, which must be taken into consideration. In this report we test translation of an example sentence, where a single verb of Swahili must be translated with nine words. Again, when translating the same from English to Swahili, nine words must be compressed into one word. The languages considered are Swahili, English and Finnish. We also test how Google Translate with neural approaches succeeds in translation.
