Abstract: | A number of experiments have demonstrated that turbulence profiles can change very rapidly. However, turbulence profiling techniques typically rely on estimating correlations from up to a few minutes of data, delivering accurate profiles at the cost of a time delay. We present a novel method for tracking the turbulence profile in real time using AO telemetry. This method can provide complementary information without requiring any additional instruments, and may provide new insights into turbulence dynamics. |
