Vastakertomuksia karkotuksista : Inkerinsuomalaisten muistitieto pakkosiirroista Siperiaan toisen maailmansodan aikana

Abstract

Artikkelini tavoite on tutkia inkerinsuomalaisen muistitietoa omasta ja ryhmänsä pakkosiirrosta Leningradin piirityksestä eri puolille Siperiaa toisen maailmansodan aikana. Kysyn, millaisia olivat muistitiedon kertomukset pakkosiirrosta. Aineistonani käytän kahdenkymmenen vuosina 1941–1942 karkotetun inkerinsuomalaisen henkilöhistoriallista haastattelua. Analysoin kertomuksia vastakertomuksen käsitteen avulla. Esitän ensiksi, että pakkosiirrettyjen inkerinsuomalaisten haastateltujen kertomukset pakkosiirrosta olivat usein vastakertomuksina neuvostovallan toimia vastaan, jotka leimasivat suomalaiset vihollisiksi ja toteuttivat epäinhimillisellä tavalla suomalaisten pakkosiirrot kaukaisiin paikkoihin alkeellisiin oloihin. Karkotetut kärsivät syrjinnästä, nälästä, sairauksista, pakkotyöstä ja surkeista elinoloista kuolleisuuden ollessa korkea. Toiseksi esitän, että inkerinsuomalaisten muistitieto sisälsi myös myönteisiä kertomuksia Siperiassa eletystä ajasta vastoin inkerinsuomalaisten hallitsevaa kärsimyskertomusta tai tutkijoiden luomaa kuvaa siitä. Paikallisten ihmisten apu ja paikoin parempi ruokatilanne pelastivat monen hengen. Muistitieto nosti esille neuvostoarjen kohenemisen monissa karkotuspaikoissa 1940-luvun kuluessa, mutta samalla haastateltavat kuvasivat totalitaristisen neuvostojärjestelmän edelleen ongelmalliseksi.

The aim of my article was to study the memories of Ingrian Finns about their forced migration from the siege of Leningrad to different parts of Siberia during the Second World War. I asked, what the oral histories told about the deportation. I used life-history interviews of twenty Ingrian Finns deported in 1941–1942, which I analyzed using the concept of counter-narrative. I suggest, firstly, that the oral histories of the interviewed Ingrian Finns about the deportation were often counter-narratives against the actions of the Soviet authorities, which labeled the Finns as enemies and inhumanly carried out the deportations of the Finns to live and work in distant places in primitive conditions. Deportees suffered discrimination, hunger, disease, forced labor, and poor living conditions with high mortality. Secondly, I suggest that the memory of the Ingrian Finns also contained positive accounts as well of the time spent in Siberia, contrary to the Ingrian Finns' dominant history of suffering or the image created of it by scholars. The help of local people and in some places a better food situation saved many lives. The deported people interviewed took up the improvement of living conditions in the Soviet exile areas during the 1940s, but at the same time, interviewees described the totalitarian Soviet system still as problematic.
