Unfortunately, information about the acceptance (or rejection rates) of individual journals is seldom avai- lable. This article surveys available systematic information and studies of acceptance rates. The overall global average is around 35-40%. There are significant differences between fields of science, with biomedicine having higher acceptance rates compared to for instance the social sciences. Open access journals usually have higher acceptance rates than subs- cription journals, and this is particularly true for so-called OA mega-journals, which have peer review criteria focusing on sound science only.9365659enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess113 Computer and information sciencesAcceptance ratesRejection ratesScholarly journalsPeer-reviewLiterature surveyQualityImpact factorSubscription journalsOpen accessPredatory journalsScholarly communicationKOTA2019PREM2019_082 - Hybrid open access publication channel1 - Self archivedhttp://hdl.handle.net/10227/2547840- Ingen av författarna har en utländsk affiliation1- Publicerad utomlands0- Ingen affiliation med ett företagYes2019Acceptance rates of scholarly peer-reviewed journals: A literature surveyReview ArticleopenAccess359983e4-5c8c-42d1-ba7c-e71dde75d5a0
