suggested as the main source of zoonotic salmonella infections in
Europe. Contaminated feed can potentially introduce the pathogen into
the animal-derived food chains.
The prevalence of salmonella in different feeds for Finnish pigs was
estimated as below 2% (medians) and on average in pigs 0.25%
