Abstract: This note considers the potential impacts on Russia from drastic economy-wide measures used in various countries to “flatten the epidemiological curve” of the COVID-19 virus. We extend the analysis framework recently introduced by the OECD to distinguish international spillover effects that come via decrease in export demand and effects from potential domestic containment measures that affect domestic demand.
