Abstract: This paper examines the logos of Finnish universities which have failed to meet the aesthetic criteria established by the author in her earlier work. The research investigates the logos in order to determine a reason for their non-conformance and, in doing so, finds that they are examples of an emerging branding trend in higher education, a trend which coincides with and supports the latest tendency in higher education to internationalize and commercialize.
